  237,000 illegal migrants in the last 5 months... is it time to intervene?

  is it possible that anyone being truthful with themself can literally believe that there needs to be a cork placed in this problem.. if this continues, and most sources, not speaking about fox, are suggesting this is only going to get worse and at this rate there will be over 750k illegal migrants.

  how are we suppose to sustain this influx.

  the massive amounts of children flooding the schools in my own municipality is crippling, for many of the counties residents.. as an example the entire county offered free breakfast and lunch to all students.

  the problem was made years ago. now there is "family" already here for lots of the migrants. And they do not assimilate and learn the language because they form their own neighborhoods and districts; if I want to talk to them I need to learn Mexican Spanish. I noticed my neighbor had a bad accent when I first met him but it went away when he found me to be a decent person and not prejudiced against him. (one of the ones I like) Individually I like almost all the migrants I meet, but you cannot solve the world's problems by having everyone move to the US, (or Europe or Austrailia.).

  There is also an upswing in diseases thought to be gone because these people bring them in; nothing against them, it is their health system that failed in their own country.

  i had found this wt a week or more ago and it had, as i previously posted on an article on how we "know" that paul was part of the governing body in the first century.. out of curiosity i looked thru some of the articles.

  everything is so different when you know about how the wt is run by hypocrites and money grubbers.

  what i saw as something positive or totally trustworthy, i now can only sadly sigh and roll my eyes at.. did you know that before caleb and sophia, there was little shelly and stephen?

  does anyone know if the new elders' manual addresses attempted suicide?

  in the previous manual, it was seen as a potential judicial matter, which is absolutely ridiculous.

  HOOBOY use scriptures and "Bible based literature", and wait for at least a day or two before resuming. That really ought to help.

  Last suicide I knew of wasn't allowed a KH memorial, but a brother did give a talk at the venue. I think this one was caused by the pressure to pioneer, go to bethel, and the dating "guidlines" (if you go on a date you gotta marry).

  There is probably the old self murder taboo in the background.

  Ignorance of Watchtower doctrine among young JW's

  i've been having a conversation with a young jw on twitter and have, once again, come up against beliefs that do not match up with official watchtower doctrine.

  if you like you can read the full thread here (you'll need to click on some comments to open it all up).. anyway the upshot is that this jw, and many like her, believe that only truly wicked people will be killed at armageddon - not innocent babies and children or anyone who "didn't know better" perhaps because they didn't get a witness.

  it's as though they cannot accept the obvious injustice of jehovah's morality.. this jw teenager believes that all these non-jw's who survive armageddon will get their chance to prove their loyalty during the 1000 year reign of christ - again, not a watchtower teaching.. i don't really have a question to ask, this is just an observation.

  How can any of us keep up on doctrine? Even if I believed the 2 generation crap I couldn't explain it at a door. That and some other things that keep changing, but are "right" would confuse anyone

  I notice they fixate on HIV, not the other diseases. And at the same time they are against the papilloma vaccine, even though it could protect someone marrying a convert. There are certainly good things to be said about fidelity though.

  I know of a sister who was pretty much forced to stay with her husband (the old winning them through conduct and being extra obedient), sure enough he molested her (not his) daughter; but they kept the marriage intact. I was surprised she even talked to any of us who were still in.

  I was waiting for the fine examples set by David to be brought out. We did have the sister who married, divorced, married on and on comment a lot. I guess she is an expert

  then any and all help came from friends offering money, food, apartments, jobs.

  Are the younger generation taking on roles in the Cong?

  i notice that several of the congs i've been to seem to have a majority of the male roles performed by older men.

  very few young men are wanting to be ms or elders etc.

  it also seems like very few young people are being pioneers either.. would you agree with this?

  I think there are a lot of PIMI who are almost PIMO as they look at some of the "odd" things like skirts only, beards, no schooling, no overtime. Add in the elders who will always have more experience looking down on whippersnappers and things are stagnant.

  Add in the CO bragging about all the things and travels he has done, a lot of people can see he hasn't ever paid his own way and resent it.

  the part this in the midweek meeting had a lot of questions about what a goad is.

  probably 10 of 15 minutes spent on it.

  and they said it was a stick with a metal point, which i doubt what with metal being costly, and a sharpened stick would do as well.. maybe next week we can learn about whips as in "we will keep whipping you until morale improves".

  Maybe next week we can learn about whips as in "we will keep whipping you until morale improves". Or how about the kindly yoke and light load. For advanced students there can be 6 and 8 letter words.

  I know a few sisters who are bigger and tougher than most brothers, maybe they should have been invited.

  i hear that a hall was burned down in washington state.

  was shot at numerous times.

  is the wbts that desperate to merge congo's and collect insurance money and now the land has no building on it the land can be sold with no demo expense.
